Regular use is not guaranteed; please take this into account when making your purchase decision.

This analog SLR camera has technical defects and is no longer functional.

One or more functions are not available (for example, it cannot be triggered, the shutter is blocked, or the mechanics are defective).

It is therefore not functional and is expressly offered as a source of spare parts or for decorative purposes.

The following functions describe the model concept for an intact device. For this listing, the aforementioned defects take precedence.

Model and requirements

The Praktica MTL5B is an analog SLR camera for 35mm film with a 24 × 36 mm image format. Its appeal lies in the direct workflow: aperture, shutter speed, and exposure time are set manually. If you want to understand why a shot appears bright, dark, motion-oriented, or spatially sharp, this concept makes the individual decisions visible.

The metal-slat focal-plane shutter is designed for shutter speeds from 1 second to 1/1000 second and the B setting. B is used for longer exposures, the duration of which you determine yourself. For the light metering system, the manual specifies an SR44 or LR44 battery. The exposure settings are selected manually; the meter display depends on its power supply.

The lens mount is M42 × 1. In addition to the thread, the corresponding aperture control of the respective lens is relevant. A similarly looking mount or the brand name Praktica alone is not sufficient to guarantee compatibility. The model is suitable as a starting point if you are looking for an manageable, manually controlled introduction to analog photography.

Product details

Brand: Pentacon

Model: Praktica MTL 5 B

Product type: SLR

Lens mount: M42

Format: 35mm

Color: Silver

Scope of delivery and image notice

The product mentioned in the title is supplied.

Additional accessories are only included if they are expressly mentioned in the title as part of the offer.

The product images shown are for illustrative purposes.
