Battery disposal
Information on the disposal of old batteries
The following notice is intended for those who use batteries or products with built-in batteries and no longer resell them in the form in which they were delivered (end users):
1. Free return of used batteries
Batteries must not be disposed of with household waste. You are legally obliged to return used batteries to ensure proper disposal. You can dispose of them at a municipal collection point or at a local retailer. As a battery distributor, we are also obligated to take back used batteries. However, our obligation to take back is limited to used batteries of the type that we carry or have carried as new batteries in our product range. You can therefore either return used batteries of the aforementioned type to us with sufficient postage or hand them in free of charge at our shipping warehouse at the address listed in the imprint.
2. Meaning of the battery symbols
Batteries are marked with the symbol of a crossed-out wheeled bin (see below). This symbol indicates that batteries must not be disposed of with household waste. For batteries containing more than 0.0005 percent mercury by mass, more than 0.002 percent cadmium by mass, or more than 0.004 percent lead by mass, the chemical name of the pollutant used is located below the wheeled bin symbol – where "Cd" stands for cadmium, "Pb" for lead, and "Hg" for mercury.

Description
Canon EOS 500 N 35mm SLR camera with autofocus (Canon EF) – defective
Condition and limitations
Condition: Defective.
The item is offered as defective. Regular use is not guaranteed; please take this into account when making your purchase decision.
One or more functions are not available (for example, the shutter does not fire, the shutter is blocked, or the mechanics are defective).
It is therefore not functional and is expressly offered as a source of spare parts or for decorative purposes.
This analog SLR camera has technical defects and is no longer functional.
The following features describe the model concept for an intact device. For this offer, the above-mentioned defects take precedence.
Model and requirements
The Canon EOS 500N is an SLR camera for 35mm film and Canon EF lenses. It combines analog photography with autofocus and motorized film transport. The model is a film camera: the images are developed after shooting and are not displayed directly on a camera display.
For this model, the Canon EF mount is essential. EF-S, EF-M, RF, and FD lenses do not fit directly. The camera requires two suitable 3V CR123A lithium batteries. This, among other things, distinguishes it from the EOS 300 with CR2 batteries. Therefore, check the exact model and battery designation.
The integrated motor handles the film transport. In this model, the film is first wound forward and transported back into the cassette with each shot. For use, you need suitable 35mm film, a power supply, and a suitable EF lens. Historical kit images or the model description do not determine the scope of delivery; the deciding factor is the equipment of the offer listed below.
