Battery disposal
Information on the disposal of old batteries
The following notice is intended for those who use batteries or products with built-in batteries and no longer resell them in the form in which they were delivered (end users):
1. Free return of used batteries
Batteries must not be disposed of with household waste. You are legally obliged to return used batteries to ensure proper disposal. You can dispose of them at a municipal collection point or at a local retailer. As a battery distributor, we are also obligated to take back used batteries. However, our obligation to take back is limited to used batteries of the type that we carry or have carried as new batteries in our product range. You can therefore either return used batteries of the aforementioned type to us with sufficient postage or hand them in free of charge at our shipping warehouse at the address listed in the imprint.
2. Meaning of the battery symbols
Batteries are marked with the symbol of a crossed-out wheeled bin (see below). This symbol indicates that batteries must not be disposed of with household waste. For batteries containing more than 0.0005 percent mercury by mass, more than 0.002 percent cadmium by mass, or more than 0.004 percent lead by mass, the chemical name of the pollutant used is located below the wheeled bin symbol – where "Cd" stands for cadmium, "Pb" for lead, and "Hg" for mercury.

Description
Kiev TTL Prism Viewfinder for Kiev 60
Condition and Limitations
Condition: good used condition.
The housing shows normal age-related signs of wear, such as minor scratches or dull patches.
The lenses may contain minimal dust particles, which do not affect use.
Externally, the viewfinder shows only slight to normal signs of wear, such as small scratches or dull patches.
Combining View and Metering
The Kiev TTL prism combines eye-level viewing with exposure metering through the camera lens. It is designed for the matching viewfinder system of the Kiev 60. The metering area is located in the central part of the viewfinder image. You thus assess framing and exposure on the same camera, while the focusing screen remains the basis for assessing sharpness.
Deliberately Setting Exposure
The camera manual describes setting the film speed and lens data on the metering prism, as well as monitoring light signals in the viewfinder. Shutter speed and aperture are set according to the metering. The prism does not trigger automatic shutter speed selection on the mechanical shutter. In aperture-priority metering, the actually closed aperture affects the amount of light reaching the metering sensor.
Prism Generation and Power Supply
The appropriate power supply is included with the respective metering prism. For the various Kiev prism versions, a specific modern battery type cannot be clearly deduced from the family name alone. The original manual describes a historical power source for its specific version. Therefore, this item is not equated with an unidentified old or new prism version with a specific adapter.
