Information on the disposal of old batteries
The following notice is intended for those who use batteries or products with built-in batteries and no longer resell them in the form in which they were delivered (end users):
1. Free return of used batteries
Batteries must not be disposed of with household waste. You are legally obliged to return used batteries to ensure proper disposal. You can dispose of them at a municipal collection point or at a local retailer. As a battery distributor, we are also obligated to take back used batteries. However, our obligation to take back is limited to used batteries of the type that we carry or have carried as new batteries in our product range. You can therefore either return used batteries of the aforementioned type to us with sufficient postage or hand them in free of charge at our shipping warehouse at the address listed in the imprint.
2. Meaning of the battery symbols
Batteries are marked with the symbol of a crossed-out wheeled bin (see below). This symbol indicates that batteries must not be disposed of with household waste. For batteries containing more than 0.0005 percent mercury by mass, more than 0.002 percent cadmium by mass, or more than 0.004 percent lead by mass, the chemical name of the pollutant used is located below the wheeled bin symbol – where "Cd" stands for cadmium, "Pb" for lead, and "Hg" for mercury.

Medium format SLR photography
The Mamiya M645 1000S is a medium format SLR camera. Within the early M645 family, the 1000S is the model with 1/1000s. Film inserts are not to be understood as removable back parts during a roll in use.
Deliberately choose sharpness and exposure
Medium format SLR camera with electronically controlled focal plane shutter up to 1/1000s. You determine the sharpness based on the viewfinder image. The aperture and time determine the exposure together with the film. A stable setup helps with longer exposures and carefully composed subjects; for precise results, light metering is part of the preparation.
Roll film and matching film carrier
120 roll film is used for 15 shots of 6×4.5 cm; 220 only with a corresponding insert. The insert and film packaging must match each other. The larger image area changes the angle of view compared to 35mm; therefore, an 80mm focal length is not automatically a tight portrait lens. After exposure, a development suitable for the material follows, and if necessary, enlargement or digitization.
Power and system limits
6V battery of the specified 4SR44/4LR44 type according to the original instructions. Lenses, viewfinders, and film carriers must match the exact camera series and version. A common manufacturer's name is not sufficient as proof of compatibility. Especially with similar model families, a distinction must be made between mechanical mountability and actually supported functions.
For planned image composition
Medium format invites you to complete the composition before pressing the shutter. You decide on the distance to the subject, line guidance, and depth of field before the image is created on film. For a cohesive series, it is worth fixing the light and exposure; this makes it easier to compare the later developed shots.
