Battery disposal

Information on the disposal of old batteries

The following notice is intended for those who use batteries or products with built-in batteries and no longer resell them in the form in which they were delivered (end users):

1. Free return of used batteries

Batteries must not be disposed of with household waste. You are legally obliged to return used batteries to ensure proper disposal. You can dispose of them at a municipal collection point or at a local retailer. As a battery distributor, we are also obligated to take back used batteries. However, our obligation to take back is limited to used batteries of the type that we carry or have carried as new batteries in our product range. You can therefore either return used batteries of the aforementioned type to us with sufficient postage or hand them in free of charge at our shipping warehouse at the address listed in the imprint.

2. Meaning of the battery symbols

Batteries are marked with the symbol of a crossed-out wheeled bin (see below). This symbol indicates that batteries must not be disposed of with household waste. For batteries containing more than 0.0005 percent mercury by mass, more than 0.002 percent cadmium by mass, or more than 0.004 percent lead by mass, the chemical name of the pollutant used is located below the wheeled bin symbol – where "Cd" stands for cadmium, "Pb" for lead, and "Hg" for mercury.

Description

Nikon MB-15 Battery Grip for F100

Condition and Limitations

Condition: good used condition.

It automates film advance on compatible camera models and is ideal for continuous shooting or a fast workflow.

Light scratches or other signs of wear may be present.

Ideal for automatic film advance on compatible camera models.

Typical age-related signs of wear, such as small scratches or dull surfaces, are possible.

Additional Handling for the F100

The Nikon MB-15 is a battery grip for the Nikon F100. It improves grip when shooting in portrait orientation and features its own shutter release as well as an additional main command dial. This allows you to operate the camera for portrait shots without having to reach over the top of it with your hand. The F100 camera designation is part of the accessory system, not a general Nikon grip compatibility.

Choosing the Right Power Supply

The F100 manual specifies six 1.5-volt AA alkaline manganese or lithium batteries for the MB-15. As a dedicated alternative, the MN-15 NiMH battery pack designed for this grip is documented. The MN-15 is a special battery pack and is charged with the designated MH-15 charger. The mention of this pack is not a general approval for any battery type in a standard battery holder.

Power Supply and Advance Performance

The F100 manual states that the MB-15 achieves approximately five frames per second in high-speed continuous shooting. This applies under the conditions stated there: continuous autofocus, manual exposure, and 1/250 second or faster. The motor is located in the F100; the grip supplements the power supply. The tables also distinguish the slower quiet continuous mode. The figure is therefore not a guarantee for every exposure time and operating condition.

Purposefully Using Portrait Orientation

The additional controls are particularly useful when you frequently switch between landscape and portrait orientation. Shutter release and settings remain close at hand. The battery grip itself does not create a new exposure automation, autofocus mode, or digital function.
