Information on the disposal of old batteries
The following notice is intended for those who use batteries or products with built-in batteries and no longer resell them in the form in which they were delivered (end users):
1. Free return of used batteries
Batteries must not be disposed of with household waste. You are legally obliged to return used batteries to ensure proper disposal. You can dispose of them at a municipal collection point or at a local retailer. As a battery distributor, we are also obligated to take back used batteries. However, our obligation to take back is limited to used batteries of the type that we carry or have carried as new batteries in our product range. You can therefore either return used batteries of the aforementioned type to us with sufficient postage or hand them in free of charge at our shipping warehouse at the address listed in the imprint.
2. Meaning of the battery symbols
Batteries are marked with the symbol of a crossed-out wheeled bin (see below). This symbol indicates that batteries must not be disposed of with household waste. For batteries containing more than 0.0005 percent mercury by mass, more than 0.002 percent cadmium by mass, or more than 0.004 percent lead by mass, the chemical name of the pollutant used is located below the wheeled bin symbol – where "Cd" stands for cadmium, "Pb" for lead, and "Hg" for mercury.

Compact introduction to 35mm film
The Olympus µ mju I combines a fixed 35mm f/3.5 lens with a camera design focused on ease of use. The lens cover unlocks the camera for shooting. It exposes 35mm film in 24 × 36mm format; it does not feature a digital preview or lens zoom.
Autofocus and depth-of-field lock
The camera sets the distance using active autofocus. With the depth-of-field lock, you can first focus on your main subject and then change the framing. It is important that the distance to the subject is not significantly changed. In close-up photography, the corresponding rangefinder markings help you choose the framing.
Exposure and flash options
Program exposure automatically combines shutter speed and aperture. For the flash, options such as automatic, off, and forced flash are available. This allows you to consciously decide whether you want to use available light or brighten the image. However, automatic mode does not prevent subject movement in low light.
Film advance and power supply
Film loading, transport, and rewinding are automatic. The camera detects the sensitivity of compatible DX-coded films; the manual describes the supported speeds. For operation, a 3V CR123A or DL123A lithium battery is required. The mju I is distinct from the mju II and the numerous mju zoom models.
For a simple prime lens series
The mju I is well suited for a series of images where you work with a fixed wide-angle view and want to make as few manual settings as possible. The depth-of-field lock is an important compositional aid: your main subject does not have to remain in the center at all times. The camera handles many technical steps, while location, observation of the light, and the conscious use of the flash continue to determine the visual impact of your images.
