Battery disposal
Information on the disposal of old batteries
The following notice is intended for those who use batteries or products with built-in batteries and no longer resell them in the form in which they were delivered (end users):
1. Free return of used batteries
Batteries must not be disposed of with household waste. You are legally obliged to return used batteries to ensure proper disposal. You can dispose of them at a municipal collection point or at a local retailer. As a battery distributor, we are also obligated to take back used batteries. However, our obligation to take back is limited to used batteries of the type that we carry or have carried as new batteries in our product range. You can therefore either return used batteries of the aforementioned type to us with sufficient postage or hand them in free of charge at our shipping warehouse at the address listed in the imprint.
2. Meaning of the battery symbols
Batteries are marked with the symbol of a crossed-out wheeled bin (see below). This symbol indicates that batteries must not be disposed of with household waste. For batteries containing more than 0.0005 percent mercury by mass, more than 0.002 percent cadmium by mass, or more than 0.004 percent lead by mass, the chemical name of the pollutant used is located below the wheeled bin symbol – where "Cd" stands for cadmium, "Pb" for lead, and "Hg" for mercury.

Description
Pentacon Pentaflex 8 Double 8mm Film Camera with Carl Zeiss Jena Pentovar 8-32mm f/2 – Partially Defective
Condition and Limitations
Condition: Partially defective.
The item is partially defective. Please note the specific limitations mentioned before purchasing.
This used film camera is partially defective: The light meter is defective or provides no or unreliable readings.
As a result, automatic exposure control (if available) may not be usable, and the correct exposure must be determined manually (for example, using Sunny-16, with an external light meter, or based on experience).
Signs of wear such as scratches, abrasion, yellowing, or minor damage may be present.
Condition, signs of wear, defects, or missing components may vary – each camera is unique.
The following features describe the model concept for an intact device. For this offer, the above-mentioned defects take precedence.
Shooting with Photographic Film
The Pentacon Pentaflex 8 is an analog small-format film camera. The recording lens is labeled Carl Zeiss Jena Pentovar 8-32mm 1:2. The Double 8 film is placed in a model-specific quick-change cassette. This historic cassette is not a Super 8 cassette.
Framing, Focus, and Motion
Reflex viewfinder and Pentovar zoom 8–32mm f/2; manual adjustment of distance and exposure. Plan your shot in the viewfinder first. The camera position determines the perspective; a longer focal length shows a tighter frame and makes shaky movements more visible.
For longer or tightly framed shots, stable camera handling is helpful.
The Right Film Format
The recording medium is Double 8 film on a matching reel. With Double 8, the film is exposed in two passes. After the first pass, the reels are reversed according to the instructions; during processing, the film is split lengthwise and joined into a continuous 8mm film.
Preparing the Drive and Shooting
Mechanical spring-driven mechanism for film transport. Film sensitivity, lighting, and the intended frame rate must match. Rely on the instructions for the exact model and the film material used. Features or power supply of a similarly named small-format film camera cannot be automatically assumed.
From Film to Projection
After developing, you can project the film with a suitable projector or have it professionally digitized. The frame rate of the recording is important for natural motion playback. The model is intended for deliberately planned analog film sequences, where exposure and image composition are determined during shooting.
